May started with a bang for the seafood industry as the U.S. Department of Agriculture issued three open purchase requests for a number of different seafood products, including wild Alaska pollock fillets and sticks. Craig Morris, CEO of the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers, told Seafoodnews that if fully awarded, the latest solicitation would bring the USDA 2024 purchase year purchases of Alaska pollock to 28,242,400 lbs.
