VASEP Proposes 20% Ice Glaze ratio for Pangasius, with 83% Moisture as Maximum

CAN THO, The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) has proposed different percentages of ice in frozen tra (pangasius) fish fillets for domestic consumption and export.
The association made the proposal after the National Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (Nafiqad) has completed draft standards for fishery products, including frozen tra fish fillets.
VASEP suggested the maximum percentage of ice in frozen tra fish fillets for domestic consumption be 20% of net weight. For export products, it should depend on regulations of importing countries but should not exceed 20% for those markets setting no percentage of ice...
