The West Coast shoreside trawl industry came away from a rockfish marketing strategies meeting Wednesday with two critical messages: Commitment and consistency.
The Oregon Trawl Commission’s roundtable discussion was to brainstorm marketing ideas in light of markedly higher annual catch limits (ACLs) for several rockfish species beginning in 2017, many of which have been under tight restrictions since the early 2000s.
