Further Peer Review Again Delays FDA Update on How Pregnant Women Should Eat Seafood

An updated advisory on how much seafood pregnant women should consume will likely not be ready this year due to another peer review initiated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The FDA and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a draft update to their joint advisory two years ago, but the document has yet to be finalized. It was criticized by environmentalists who said it encouraged women to eat more fish without providing enough guidance about how to avoid methyl mercury.
