Hanjin Disruption Will Have Little Impact on Seafood Shippers

Hanjin's bankruptcy has disrupted shipping, as those vessels on the water and approach ports cannot secure tug and pilot services to dock.
As a result some products are stranded until some arrangement is made to pay for port services.
Hanjin, the world’s seventh-largest container shipper, represents nearly 8 percent of the trans-Pacific trade volume for the U.S. market.
For those companies with shipments on the stranded vessels, there is a concern about how quickly they may get offloaded.
But for the Seafood Industry, we think the impact will be minimal, aside from a few containers....
