Ahold USA Gets MSC Certification for Nature's Promise Canned Tuna

Ahold USA has earned certification against the Marine Stewardship Council’s scheme for its Nature’s Promise chunk light skipjack canned tuna and solid white albacore canned tuna.

The certification means the cans will now carry the MSC’s blue eco label. The Nature’s Promise canned tuna products are sold Ahold USA’s retail divisions of Stop & Shop New England, Stop & Shop New York Metro, Giant Landover, Giant Carlisle and online grocer Peapod.

“Ahold USA is committed to supporting the responsible retailing objectives of its retail divisions, which includes lessening our environmental impact and helping customers eat well with quality, sustainable products,” said Marissa Nelson, senior vice president of responsible retailing and healthy living, Ahold USA...
