Free Trade Deal Helps Australia Triple its Live Rock Lobster Exports to China

A free trade agreement between Australia and China has tripled the volume of Australia’s live rock lobster shipments to the Chinese market.
According to Keith Pitt Australia’s Assistant Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, the China- Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA) cut the tariff on rock lobster exports to the Chinese market this year, which is why shipments of the product are up sharply in 2016. ChAFTA will cut the tariffs again in 2017, which is expected to increase shipments even more.
