Clearwater Notes Good Global Demand for Premium Priced Seafood With Sales Up 30% in 2016

Clearwater Seafoods posted a sharp increase in its sales year-to-date primarily because of strong demand for high-priced seafood items the company said.
The Halifax-based distributor posted a 29 percent increase in third-quarter sales, which contributed to a 30 percent rise in its sales for the year. Sales for the year were reported at $445 million.
Clearwater noted strong sales at high prices for this year’s performance increases. The company reported good sales of for higher priced Canadian sea and Argentine scallops, lobster and snow crab. Volume growth was also reported for Argentine scallops, UK King scallops, langoustine and whelk...
