White shrimp prices are stable in the short term in the Chinese domestic market, thanks to a balance between supply and demand.
Most shrimps are at the size of 50 shrimps per jin (1 jin=0.5 kilo) in the markets of South China. This equates to a 31-35 headless count. China’s shrimp price index is reported to be 106.15 points on November 9 declining by 0.45%, i.e. 0.48 points from November 2.
The average farm gate price is 12.96 yuan/jin (1 jin=0.5 kilo) for those at 40 shrimps/jin. (26-30 headless).
