Shrimp Broodstock Prices Rise in China as Two Companies Exit Market, SyAqua and Kona Bay Raise Prices

The prices of shrimp broodstock will rise by up to 30% in China the second half of the year. Most think this will not impact seedling prices.
The seed demand is about 200 billion high-quality shrimp seed. And there is still great growth potential in seed sales of the eastern and northern China. The price increase of broodstock will push up seed prices eventually. But the peak season of seed sales is usually within the first half of every year. And broodstock prices will not rise until the second half of this year. So seed prices probably will not rise to great extent until 2018.
Out of 4 Broodstock companies operating in China, CP and Primo have stopped sales. The remaining companies are SyAqua, which entered the market in 2016, and Kona Bay.
SyAqua has released an announcement saying its broodstock price will jump from US$100 per pair to US$130 from this July 1st
