First Port Moeller Report Suggests Bristol Bay Sockeye Run Timing Normal, Close to Forecasts

The first interpretive report issued from the Port Moeller Test fishery, released yesterday, suggests that the forecast 41 million sockeye run for the Bay is on track. The report said “the 2017 run has not strayed too far from recent historical trends and appears to be on track.”
It is too early at this stage to release stock composition or run size estimates, but early indications are that the current surge of fish is destined for Egegik, the river system with the highest volume forecast for this year...
