NFI, Importers Dealt Setback by Court in Ruling over Seafood Traceability Rule

NFI and the nine seafood importers who filed suit to halt the Obama administration rule on new seafood traceability requirements were dealt a blow in a Washington DC District Court yesterday, June 22nd.
The Judge, Amit P. Mehta, ordered the Dept. of Commerce to submit a signed statement to ratify the Seafood Traceability Rule. Such a statement would then cure, after the fact, any failure of the DOC in making the rule in violation of Magnuson.
