Washington, D.C. – Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., and other Democrat and Republican senators introduced a bipartisan bill in July that would capture carbon emissions and use them in productive ways.
Whitehouse and Sens. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D; Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.V.; John Barrasso, R-Wyo.; and 21 other senators introduced the Furthering carbon capture, Utilization, Technology, Underground storage, and Reduced Emissions (FUTURE) Act to spur investment in next-generation carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies in July.
