Festivals Boost Chinese Shrimp Demand; Prices Expected to Rise

China’s shrimp price index was reported to be 118.75 points on Sept. 20, which dropped by 1.15% (1.39 points) from Sept. 13. The farm gate price was 24.57 yuan/jin ($7.36/kg US) for those at the size of 40 shrimp per jin (80 shrimp per kg) on average, which contracted by 0.28 yuan/jin ($0.08/kg US).
