ASMFC Passes Final Northern Shrimp Allocation with 80% to Maine; No Decision on Fishery Opening

The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission adopted a final rule regarding Northern Shrimp, although there is no decision yet on whether to open the 2018 fishery and the fishery remains under a moratorium.
The new rule allocates 80% of the TAC to Maine, and 10% each to NH and Massachusetts, and it provides for up to 13% of the harvest to be in trap fisheres.
This rule was adopted rather than a limited entry program..
