Seafood Industry Losses From Hurricane Harvey Won’t Be Clear Until Late Spring

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service economists found that Hurricane Harvey, which tore through parts of south central Texas the upper Gulf Coast in late August, caused more than $200 million in crop and livestock losses. However, the damage done to industries tied to commercial and recreational fisheries won’t be clear until late spring, says Dr. Andrew Ropicki, an AgriLife Extension economist.
