King Cove and Feds Sign Deal to Advance Proposed Road from King Cove to Cold Bay

U.S. Department of the Interior and Alaska Native village corporation officials Monday signed a deal aimed at advancing construction of the proposed road through a federal wildlife refuge on the Alaska Peninsula, from King Cove to Cold Bay.
The signing ceremony took place in U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke's Washington, D.C., office even though the federal government was officially shut down.
Zinke, in a phone interview, said Alaska Gov. Bill Walker and King Cove officials had already traveled to the East Coast.
