Arctic Storm shifts heavily into surimi this year, as Alaska in catbird seat

US pollock harvester Arctic Storm Management Group is seeing a lot of excitement return to the surimi side of its business, after a tough year in 2013, says Doug Christensen.
The company operates the Arctic Storm and Arctic Fjord, and produced more surimi than blocks in the A season of 2014 for the first time in years, said President Doug Christensen in an interview with Undercurrent News.
“This is the first time in 15 years we have produced more surimi than block in our operations, and we expect to maintain the higher surimi product mix through 2014,” said Christensen.
