Vietnam freezes debts for 3 years at no interest for pangasius and shrimp farmers

Vietnam’s government has decided to freeze bad debts for local pangasius and shrimp raisers as many farmers have no money to pay off the debts and invest in their production, state media reported.
The government has asked banks and other financial institutions to freeze farmers’ debts for maximum 36 months. During the period, the lenders will not take any interests.
Debt-laden farmers may also take new loans if they have an effective production plan.
