Russia's poor salmon catch this year hampering efforts to find replacement for banned fish

Russia has posted poor results for salmon catches this year.
Amid a threat of a shortage of fish in the Russian market due to the ban on imports from many Western countries, the government is continuing significant efforts to increase supplies of domestically-produced fish to the local market. Most of the catch, so far, has been exported abroad.
According to recent statements of Ilya Shestakov, head of the Russian Federal Agency for Fishery, in recent weeks the volume of supplies of Russian fish sold overseas has significantly decreased.
