Lithuania's Viciunai will keep supplying Russia with surimi from its Kalingrad plant

VILNIUS, Lithuanian-owned food group Viciunai says that crab sticks will not disappear from the shelves of Russian retail stores as its fish processing facility in the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad continues to operate as normal despite a ban on surimi imports from some countries.
"The range of countries that supply raw materials to our factory is very broad. After Russia imposed the sanctions, we stopped buying surimi from the countries that are subject to the ban, but started to import larger quantities from other countries, those that are not subject to the ban. Thus, the sanctions are no obstacle for us," Visvaldas Matijosaitis, the majority shareholder and CEO of Viciunai Group, said.
