Newfoundland to continue with Gulf of St. Lawrence halibut stock tagging program

The provincial government, the Fish, Food and Allied Workers (FFAW) union and fisheries scientists working with Memorial University think there is more to be said about the change in halibut stocks in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Specifically, $79,700 will go towards advanced satellite tagging for researching the migration patterns and behaviours of halibut in the Gulf.
Another $27,530 will go towards additional conventional tagging...
