AquaBounty blasts reports of operating irresponsibly in wake of Panamanian fine

AquaBounty has responded to a number of critical news reports about its genetically modified salmon operations after the company was fined by Panamanian officials for violating environmental regulations related to its water use and discharge practices. In its statement AquaBounty said reports of the violation were exaggerated and were not indicative of the regulatory standards the company operates under.
This week Panama's Centro de Incidencia Ambiental (CIAM), the Panamanian National Environmental Authority, fined Aquabounty $9,500 for failure to have secured proper water discharge and water use permits prior to beginning its operations...
