Marine Harvest to invest $26 million in Chilean-based value-added salmon processing plant

Marine Harvest will spend $26 million to build a state-of-the-art value added salmon processing plant in the Chilean Lakes Region.
The Norwegian salmon producer's proposed complex will have an initial production capacity of 65,000 tons per year with the potential for its output to increase to 90,000 tons by 2019. The plant is projected to create 300 jobs in the Puerto Montt region
This facility will essentially replace the Delifish smoked plant that closed about a year ago. The plant is also the first to be built since the Chilean ISA crisis, which forced Marine Harvest to close some of its facilities...
