Russia's Rosselkhoznadzor auditing Chilean salmon, seafood facilities with higher imports in mind

A delegation of Russian inspectors from the country's veterinary surveillance ministry, Rosselkhoznadzor, is in Chile this week to review fish and food export regulations as part of a mission to strengthen fish and seafood trade relations between the two countries.
The Director of Chile's fishery ministry José Miguel Burgos and the Deputy Director of Chile's Foreign Trade Department Cecilia Solis, received the contingent of Russian officials. They discussed Chile's existing health and safety protocols among their fish and seafood operations. The meetings will then be followed by tours of salmon and mussel processing plants and inspection laboratories.
Vasily Krasovsky, the head of the delegation, said they are auditing Chilean operations as per Russian protocols. He said demand for Chilean salmon and other seafood and food exports is rising.
