New EU seafood labeling regulations come into force this week

Exporters selling seafood into Europe have to comply with new labeling regulations that came into force on Dec. 13th. The rules will apply to all seafood shipped to the EU, such as lobsters, from Canada and the US during the holidays.
The major components are:
-the commercial name and scientific name must be displayed
-the production method identified, as "caught", "caught in fresh water" and "farmed".
