Vietnam to clamp down on seafood quality under threat of EU import ban

The National Agro-Forestry Fisheries Quality Assurance (Nafiqad) under Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will set up a number of working teams to inspect seafood processors in a bid to tighten its control over seafood quality.
The move will be taken after EU’s authorities warned Vietnam of possible banning of its seafood import after a number of Vietnamese seafood products were found unsafe for consumption.
