Judge Temporarily Blocks Pacific Seafood from Completing Ocean Gold Transaction

A federal judge placed a restraining order on Pacific Seafood Group’s attempt to acquire Ocean Gold Seafoods on Friday morning, the lawyer on the plaintiff’s side told Undercurrent News a half an hour after the judge’s 10 a.m. decision. The plaintiffs were arguing that the settlement in a prior anti-trust case against Pacific that had provisions relating to Ocean Gold should preclude the transaction.
“They actually had a hearing this morning by telephone with the federal judge, and he filed a restraining order against that transaction occurring,” Michael Haglund, the attorney representing the fishermen that filed the lawsuit, told ...
