IPHC Approves 16% Increase in Halibut TACs, Matches Last Year's Bering Sea Quota

The U.S./Canadian halibut commission agreed this morning to increase catch limits in Area 4CDE from half a million pounds to 1.285 million pounds, saving the Bering Sea communities of Saint Paul, Saint George, Gambell, Savoonga, Nome, and dozens others from foregoing a halibut season altogether.
