EWOS Develops Fish Feed that Naturally Increases Sea Lice Resistance in Farmed Salmon

Major fishmeal producer EWOS says it has developed a diet for farmed Atlantic salmon that reduces the spread of sea lice by as much as 65 percent.
This week representative from EWOS presented their findings at an international sea lice seminar in Puerto Varas, Chile.
According to the company's technical manager Rodrigo Solervicens, EWOS found farmed salmon diets play an integral role in their overall immune response to sea lice. They said the use of antibiotics in farmed operations is becoming less effective in combating disease and other parasites.
