Alaskan Salmon Catch at 4.3 Million Fish and Gaining Steam with Bristol Bay About to Come Online

As the Copper River fishery slows, and the harvest in Kodiak, Cook Inlet, the Alaska Peninsula and Bristol Bay picks up speed, the catch has grown to upwards of 4,363,000 fish.
Of the estimated 2,594,000 sockeye salmon caught, more than one million of them were in the Copper River drift fishery. 126,000 reds were delivered to processors from the Eshamy district drift/setnet district.
