Texas Carries Gulf Shrimp Landings in July with Total 2015 Catch Even with Last Year

Much higher shrimp landings out of Texas have helped the Gulf catch through July stay on par with volumes posted at this time in 2014.
In July Gulf fishermen hauled in 10.5 million pounds of shrimp, just over 1 million pounds more compared to last July.
Landings out of Texas accounted for nearly half of the month’s catch at 5.2 million pounds; the figure was up nearly 80 percent compared to July 2014 levels.
The total Gulf haul now stands at 40.3 million pounds through July compared with 40.4 million last year...
