The new fishing season in Central and South America for frozen mahi began on October 8th. Many interested parties — producers, processors and importers — are eagerly anticipating the initial landings from Ecuador and Peru, the two largest suppliers of frozen mahi to the U.S. Typically, the fishing season for frozen mahi runs from October through March with imports peaking in December and January.
