Judge Dissolves Earlier Injunction Against Fines For Moving Pollock On 100-Foot Railway in Canada
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is no longer constrained from issuing fines to a pair of American Seafoods-affiliated shipping companies if they continue to use the Bayside Canadian Railway (BCR) route to deliver Bering Sea pollock to east coast markets.
In U.S. District Court Judge Sharon L. Gleason’s latest ruling last Thursday, Klooesterboer International Forwarding (KIF) and Alaska Reefer Management (ARM) will no longer be protected from fines by the court’s earlier injunction against CBP.
