Small-Boat Oregon Crabbers Lodge Large Complaint About Dungeness Delay
A delay in the crab season isn't sitting well with some West Coast crab fishermen, who wanted to start earlier.
Fishermen from primarily Newport, Garibaldi and Port Orford, including some who own multiple vessels, laid the blame on the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife in a letter, saying the ongoing delays disadvantaged the fishermen, all of whom are "small boat" fishermen, they say.
