Russia Faced With Sharp Drop of Salmon Consumption
The consumption of fish in Russia is expected to significantly decline already in the middle term, with the biggest drop to be observed in salmon segment.
That will be mainly due to the current economic situation in Russia, which may result in the decline of the average fish consumption in the country by 5-7% per year. This has been recently published in the study of the Russian National Rating Agency (NRA). In 2021, according to the Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), fish consumption in the country decreased by 2%, to 21.7 kg per person per year.
