One Norwegian Salmon Now Worth More Than A Barrel of Oil

The weak Norwegian Kroner, combined with soaring salmon prices and weak oil prices, has led to the strange sight in Norway that a single 4.5 kg salmon is worth more than a barrel of Brent Crude
According to Ilaks.no, which came up with this comparison, in recent weeks oil has been trading in the range around 275 NOK ($30-$31 US) for a barrel of Brent Crude, but salmon has been trading at 65 to 70 NOK per kg.
The result is a 4-5 kg salmon, a standard size large 10-12 lb. fish, is worth NOK 292 to NOK 300...
