Norwegian Salmon Exports Continue Record-Setting Pace: 'A Good Time to be a Fish Farmer'

It is a good time to be a fish farmer in Norway, as production shortfalls elsewhere have pushed salmon exports up to record levels.
According to Paul Aandahl of the Norwegian Seafood Export Council, "Demand for Norwegian salmon is still high and export volumes have increased. "
In August export prices averaged NOK 58 per kg., down slightly from NOK 66 last month. This is a far cry from past years when salmon prices struggled to get above NOK 40 per kg.
