Vietnam's Pangasius Sales to China Up 76% in 2016; Could Pass US as Top Market in 2017

China, including Hong Kong, may surpass the U.S. to become the biggest importer of pangasius products from Vietnam in 2017, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
Two months ago, China surpassed the EU to become Vietnam’s second largest buyer, the association said.
In the first ten months of this year, China and Hong Kong imported Vietnamese pangasius worth $235.5 million, up 76% on year, VASEP said. Vietnam’s pangasius export to China has grown constantly in the past two years, it noted.
