FDA Seafood Refusals Tick Down in November But Filth Keeps 2016 Rejections at Record Pace

Filth continues to account for the bulk of the FDA’s seafood rejections in 2016 while refusal rates remain far ahead of last year’s levels.
The FDA rejected 86 line items of seafood shipments in the month of November. The figure actually marked a rare decline in monthly rejections compared to year ago figures.
Still, total seafood rejections in 2016 are well above last year’s levels at this time, up 16 percent. This year’s overall increase continues to be driven by high rates of inspection by the FDA in 2016...
