Louisiana Announces Seasonal Closures to Commercial Shrimp Fishing Effective Jan 2

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) will close portions of state outside waters to commercial shrimp fishing on January 2. These closures are in line with the historical seasonal behavior of the state’s shrimp seasons.
According to the map, shrimping will be closed in the portion of state outside waters that extends a distance of 3 nautical miles seaward of the inside/outside shrimp line from the northwest shore of Caillou Boca to the western shore of Freshwater Bayou Canal...
