Peru to Close Second Anchovy Fishing Season with 1.73 Million Metric Tons Harvested

Peru will close its second anchovy fishing season this Friday January 27. The latest catch report from Peruvian fishery researchers at IMARPE say the commercial fleet landed 1.73 million metric tons.
Fishing will conclude in the north-central fishing grounds. The fishery, which started in November was allocated 2 million metric tons, which means the commercial fleet landed about 86.5 percent of the quota.
