Northern Australian Fishing Industry Rattled as White Spot Disease Breaks Barriers

CONCERN and uncertainty seem to be the prevailing moods among the Queensland commercial fishing industry, reeling from last week’s news that white spot disease had broken its containment in the Logan River and been detected in Moreton Bay.
There is also frustration among members of the Queensland Seafood Industry Association, many of whom predicted the outbreak was a matter of “when”, not “if”.
