Russia Admits IUU Fishing Continues to be Huge Problem, Readies More Anti-Poaching Measures

The Russian government has designed a new package of measures, aimed at fighting poaching in the domestic fishery industry, according to an official spokesman of Russian Rosrybolovstvo.
According to estimates of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources, despite all the efforts taken by the Russian government in recent years the problem of poaching remains still very pressing for the Russian fishery industry.
Currently the annual illegal fish catch in Russia is estimated at 18 billion rubles (US$300 million)..
