Russian Salmon Fishermen Say Sockeye Drift-net Ban is Plot by US Fishermen, NGO's to Reduce Catch

Russian salmon producers have called on the national government to lift the recently imposed ban on drift-net fishing in the Russian territorial waters.
Fisherman say the ban was lobbied by the US fishermen through the certain Russian environmental organizations affiliated with them, with the aim to kill off Russian and Japanese competitors from the premium market of sockeye salmon and chum salmon.
