PEI wants exemption from foreign worker changes so lobster processors can run at full capacity

P.E.I.’s fisheries minister is calling on Ottawa to ease up on temporary foreign worker restrictions in Atlantic Canada lobster processing plants.
Ron McKinley raised the issue while hosting a meeting this week of fishery ministers from across Canada.
He says foreign workers filled 40 per cent of lobster processing jobs on P.E.I. this season and the industry will likely need more next year.
