NPFMC Will Be Streamed Live From Seattle Starting Next Week (Fish Radio)

This is Fish Radio. I’m Laine Welch … Lots of shuffling going on in Alaska’s fish world; fish meetings too.
This week will reveal if Pacific halibut catches ratchet up slightly in some regions, as indicated earlier, or at least remain the same. The International Pacific Halibut Commission is meeting in Vancouver through Friday – that’s when the harvests and season start and end dates will be announced. You can follow the halibut meetings live on the web.
The North Pacific Fishery Management Council meetings, set for February 2 – 10 also will be streamed live from Seattle.
There’s been lots of name shuffling in the fish world. Sam Cotton is now officially Commissioner of the Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game. Charlie Swanton, former Sport Division director was named Deputy Commissioner. Longtime Alaskan Anthony DeGange was appointed as Director of the Habitat Division...
