NFWF and NOAA announce $1.58 million in grants from Fisheries Innovation Fund

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) and NOAA announced the fifth round of grant awards from its Fisheries Innovation Fund, a program launched in 2010 to support sustainable fisheries in the United States.
The goal of the Fisheries Innovation Fund is to sustain fishermen while at the same time rebuilding fish stocks. The grants announced today will aid in the design and implementation of projects that provide technical and practical support for fishing communities across the country.
“In its fifth round, the Fisheries Innovation Fund grants continue to foster innovative ideas and technologies that promote sustainable fisheries and allow communities to flourish,” said Jeff Trandahl, executive director and CEO of NFWF. “Throughout the nation, the 15 grants announced today will contribute to improved wellbeing of the fishermen and the places they call home.”
The 15 grants for 2015 total $1.58 million, and will be matched by over $1.3 million in additional support...
