Pacific Seafoods and Trident Close Kodiak Deal, Expect Smooth Transition to 2025 Season

Pacific Seafood Group and Trident Seafoods announced yesterday that the purchase of Trident’s processing operations in Kodiak by Pacific Seafood is now complete. The deal was first announced in mid-October, the last of a series of moves Trident made responding to persistent marketing and global financial conditions.

Oregon-based Pacific Seafoods has processed salmon, crab, and groundfish at it’s own plant in Kodiak for years. This acquisition will increase their production significantly.

Trident Seafoods, Channel Fish Land USDA Pollock Contracts

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) awarded over $2 million in contracts for various Alaska pollock products for use in Child Nutrition and other Domestic Food Distribution programs.

In total, contracts for 920,000 pounds of Alaska pollock products were awarded for $2,052,149.

Trident Seafoods took home most of the purchase, with the USDA purchasing 730,000 pounds of product for over $1.6 million. The USDA will buy 190,000 pounds of product for just over $448,000 from Massachusetts-based Channel Fish Processing...

Former Microsoft Executive Mike Quinn to Become COO at Trident Seafoods

Trident Seafoods announced the addition of Mike Quinn, a former exec at Microsoft, as Chief Operating Officer (COO) to its executive leadership team. Quinn will be tasked with leading the seafood giant’s operational strategy and execution and report directly to Trident’s CEO, Joe Bundrant.

Alongside Quinn, Trident Seafoods shook up its executive suite, naming Jeff Welbourn as President – Trident USA, and Kenji Nasu as President – Trident Alaska.

Silver Bay Seafoods to Buy Trident Seafoods' False Pass Facilities

On Friday Trident Seafoods and Silver Bay Seafoods announced an agreement for Silver Bay to purchase Trident’s False Pass processing facility and fuel business on the Alaska Peninsula. It is the second purchase by Silver Bay in an area where they already own a plant and process salmon.With this purchase, Silver Bay will be processing salmon at plants in Southeast Alaska (Craig, Sitka, Ketchikan); south-central Alaska (Valdez), Kodiak, Bristol Bay (Naknek), and the Alaska Peninsula (False Pass) this season.

Trident Seafoods Will Operate Kodiak Plants Through ‘B’ Season

In a series of events that define the phrase “Timing is everything,” Trident Seafoods has announced it will continue to operate its Kodiak plant through the pollock “B” season. On Thursday the USDA announced the purchase award winners for the May 3 invitation for Alaska pollock products. Both High Liner Foods and Trident Seafoods were awarded the contracts, which combined are worth $3,756.021.68.

NTSB Determines Cause Behind $56.6 Million Total Loss of Trident’s F/V Kodiak Enterprise 

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) revealed its findings after investigating an April 2023 fire that occurred on board the F/V Kodiak Enterprise, a 276 ft. vessel that is a part of Trident’s catcher/ processor fleet.
