Salmon Sees Great Price Increase in China

China’s salmon market has been hustling this February due to supply shortages and the shopping frenzy around recent festivals like Chinese New Year. Their wholesale prices have increased by about 10 yuan/kg to more than 180 yuan/kg during this mid-February from earlier this month, according to statistics from Fishfirst.cn.

It is said that salmon were mostly sold between 190 yuan/kg to 200 yuan/kg in Beijing on February 14, while large ones weighing between 8 kg to 9 kg were priced at 185 yuan/kg in Guangzhou that day...
